A mere 30 minutes (without traffic) from Downtown Chicago, both Long Grove's residents and visitors feel a new sense of excitement from the re-gentrification of the picturesque charming town rich with history dating from the mid 1800's. High Tea with Gerry is always a wonderful way to spend an afternoon with authentic English Tea and an artful presentation of eight varieties of sandwiches, petite pastries and delicious scones. Whether you are planning a ladies social, bridal shower or special birthday celebration, I would highly recommend this venue.  

Long Grove Cafe and Restaurant , which recently has changed ownership, overlooks beautiful Mill Pond and has an extensive menu offering delicious burgers, steaks, seafood and salads.

If you already love what Long Grove has to offer, I promise you that in the near future you will love it even more. An exciting new mix of vibrant stores and restaurants continue to open their doors, adding to the Village’s charm and vibrancy. This summer, Chatterbox of Long Grove, opened and everyone who visited this new delicious dining establishment is pleased with the food and atmosphere. Other new establishments include the Broken Earth Winery, a wonderful California winery located in Long Grove and In Motion Dance Studio, offering students age 2 ½ to 18 years the opportunity to learn a variety of dance styles

Near Downtown Restaurants and Establishments

One of my favorite restaurants just outside the Downtown area is Smokin'T's Bar-B-Que. Whether you like Burnt Ends Brisket or spicy Tortilla Soup, I highly recommend this restaurant to dine in, order take out or even cater a party.  

Sunset Foods, located on Route 83 in Long Grove, opened its doors a few years ago and continues the company's fine reputation for being a neighborhood supermarket dedicated to provide the finest customer service. Whether you live in or close to Long Grove, you wil enjoy the customer service that Sunset offers its patrons.

Long Grove residents attend the highly acclaimed Stevenson High School,one of only three schools in America and the only school in Illinois to earn four Blue Ribbon Awards for excellence from the U.S. Department of Education.  

The majority of the elementary school age children living in Long Grove attend District 96 which includes attending Kindergarten at Willow Grove Elementary School, first through 5th grades at either Kildeer Countryside Elementary School or Country Meadow Elementary School in Long 
Grove and 6th through 8th grade at Woodlawn Middle School in Long Grove. A smaller percentage of children living in Long Grove attend Diamond Oak for elementary school and West Oak Junior High- both in District 76.

Real Estate Market 

The real estate market in Long Grove has been relatively stable for most of 2014 but in September of this year, the average sales price was the highest its been in a long time. Recovery from the top of the market has been slow but the good news is that Long Grove offers many different price points and unique opportunities for families with young children, as well as empty nesters never wanting to move away.

 

Waking up to a beautiful sunset, glimpsing deer prancing in your backyard and hearing the birds chirping in the trees are just some of the reasons I love living in Long Grove!
